Open letter: The European Commission must take into account the answers of the CJEU to the clarifications requested by the French Council of State concerning the status of new genomic techniques in EU law
The European Commission has opened a public consultation until 22 October on new genomic techniques. This initiative will propose a legal framework for plants obtained by targeted mutagenesis and cisgenesis and for their food and feed products.

To discuss policy developments that affect crop diversity movements, the European Coordination Let’s Liberate Diversity (ECLLD) has launched a series of virtual Seed Policy Dialogues in April 2021. Built as a monthly exchange meeting with lawyer Fulya Batur, ECLLD Members and all interested parties, the Dialogues analysed the monthly “Sprouts From Brussels” newsletter and discussed a wide range of topics related to seeds, with precious external contributions, and interpretation into French (at times also Italian and German).
